There is no real difference between blocking someone on eHarmony and saying goodbye. You can either choose to not communicate with the match you want to block or when you “Remove Contact” you can decide if you want to send a goodbye message or not.
Either way, you will have to hit the “Remove Contact” option whenever you want to block a person or say goodbye to a match. It is your choice if you want to leave a message saying goodbye or nothing at all. Now if you have not made any contact with the match you can just delete the match.
What Does it Mean When Someone Says Goodbye on Harmony?
When you say goodbye to someone on eHarmony you are saying goodbye to a possible match and future relationship. You have chosen to say goodbye due to not really being interested in this match or finding another partner who is a better match for you.
Whatever the reason is, it is always your choice to make. There are two ways you can say goodbye on eHarmony. You can choose to write your own goodbye and send it to the person and remove the contact.
Or you can remove the contact and choose the option for eHarmony to send goodbye to you.
Is It Rude to Say Goodbye to Someone on eHarmony?
In a way, yes, it is rude to say goodbye to a match on eHarmony. However, it all depends on whether you have already communicated with the match or not. If you have never responded to the matches messages then saying goodbye can be rude.
The last thing someone wants to hear is that you are not interested in them before even giving them a chance. So if you have never made contact with the match then the best thing to do is just delete the match.
Now if you and this match have already made contact and/or went on a date then it might not be rude to say goodbye. It is probably better to let this person know you are no longer interested than just ghosting them completely.
If you do not say anything to your match after communicating they might be left with questions and doubting themselves.
