Why Do People Hate Genshin Impact?
1. Genshin Impact is L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ Friendly
As previously mentioned, Genshin Impact has a vast amount of unique characters; however, not all of these characters are straight
. The game makes almost no effort to hide the fact that it supports and shines a positive light on queer relationships, which is genuinely refreshing to see in the video game world.
The sheer astonishing amount of queer characters in Genshin Impact is made apparent in our recent feature on Gay Genshin Impact Characters.
However, rather unfortunately, there are too many people that either straight up hate anything that comes close to being gay-supportive or it makes them uncomfortable, which most will lash out since they do not understand.
It is an unfortunate reality that there are people out there that will hate someone or something simply because of their/its sexual preference.
This could be the case for many people who dislike or hate Genshin Impact. Since Genshin Impact wears its bright queer colors on its sleeve many people could be uncomfortable with its proud stance.
This also falls into a possible fear, as some people who do not understand something are afraid of it. So, if someone does not understand that someone can love someone else no matter their sex, they can become afraid and if they lack the strength to properly process their feelings, then they will likely get angry and defensive.
It is genuinely fantastic to finally see a video game that provides gay characters for any possible gay players to see themselves in; however, the hatred for anyone who is not straight is all too real, especially in The United States.
With that said, it is not inclusive to the US only, as there are unfortunately, anti-gay people and groups all around the world. There is no right way to explain hate, it is senseless, thoughtless, and unnecessary.
If someone is bothered that you play Genshin Impact, pay it no mind since you are free to do as you see fit, do not concern yourself with the misunderstandings of others.
2. Genshin Impact Is A Gacha Game
Now, while some players will not admit it, Genshin Impact is a gacha game. This means that Genshin Impact does encourage players to spend in-game currency such as coins, items, or cards for items within the game as they progress through the video game.
However, the item the player receives is typically at random, which adds an almost gambling rush to the game. Now, this is not to say that gacha games are bad, there are simply not for everybody.
Some players really enjoy the gacha mechanism, whereas other players could absolutely despise the mechanic.
With that said, there are plenty of popular video games that have implemented the gacha mechanic such as Overwatch, Apex Legends, or Valorant. In games such as these, the random reward is typically a cosmetic item.
The gacha mechanic in some video games is hated by some players since it can sometimes be tricky about its intent, some players in the past have felt like they were tricked into paying for something in the game with real money when the game did not make it apparent that a purchase was necessary.
In Genshin Impact, players can trade in-game currency (which is Primogems) so that they can potentially obtain Fate items, or earn them as rewards or gifts. So, Genshin Impact’s gacha mechanic is the “Wish” and each Wish requires a certain number of Fate items.
If a player uses a “Wish” to win something, it will typically either be a new weapon or a new character, which can be 3-star or above.
3. They Don’t Like Video Games
It is certainly feasible that they just might not like video games. Video games are not for everyone, whether they do not have time to play them or they simply do not like them, this could be why they hate Genshin Impact.
This does not necessarily mean that they hate Genshin Impact the game itself rather they do not like any video games.
There are also those who still subscribe to the outdated thought that video games are no good for you, which is completely untrue as video games can help with things such as stress relief, motor skills, and reaction time.
So, while your friend or family member may say that you are “wasting your time” playing Genshin Impact, brush it off because you are doing what makes you happy.
If you enjoy playing Genshin Impact and it does nothing but make you positive and happy, then do not worry about what anyone else may think about the game.
You are doing what makes you happy and that is all that matters. As previously depicted, some people simply do not like video games and that does not mean that they should.
For example, you may like a certain ice cream flavor such as chocolate, whereas your friend may prefer plain vanilla.
This should not ruin your experience with chocolate ice cream, they simply prefer a different flavor than you do. It is not all too different with Genshin Impact, you may enjoy the video game but others may not.
4. They Don’t Like RPGs
RPGs (Role-Playing Games) are games in which a player will assume the role of a character in the game. As previously depicted, not everyone likes video games and the same could be said for genres of video games.
It could be that they simply do not enjoy role-playing games such as Genshin Impact. Usually, in role-playing games, the character that the player plays already has a backstory and certain motivations.
With this in mind, some players do not like this and would prefer a game where they pave their own story or just want to play a video game for the sake of escaping.
So, they could simply not want to get involved with a fully fleshed-out story rather preferring to hop in and out of a “pointless” video game.
Some players only enjoy the act of playing a game rather than watching characters grow as they progress through the game.
This can be observed in the Call of Duty game series, where as the majority of the players do not necessarily care about the storyline of the game rather they simply want to hop on the online discord and pop a couple of domes, and go to bed after.
5. They Don’t Like Anime
You may have heard of Anime conventions, which are similar to larger events such as Comic Con but are focused on anime.
Anime is simply a form of animation that originates from Japan where it is typically hand-drawn and computer-generated. With this in mind, there is an absolutely astonishing amount of people who are die-hard anime fans.
In contrast, there are many people who despise anime and its style. It has been said that Genshin Impact takes a lot of its style from Zelda: Breath of The Wild, but with one look at Genshin Impact any anime fan could tell you that it also has some heavy anime influences.
As previously stated, not everyone likes anime so this could be cited as a reason why someone does not like Genshin Impact seeing as the video game wears its anime influences on its sleeve.
6. Haters Gonna Hate
It is not only possible but it is also very likely that they are just hating on the fact that you are playing Genshin Impact. This could be for a number of possible reasons such as they lack the mental fortitude to play a video game with gay characters in the world.
Whether it makes them uncomfortable or they are simply jealous that you can play a video game with queer characters and not care what people may think or say, haters are gonna hate.
You should pay no attention to people who act like this, as they clearly lack something in their life so it is not necessarily about your or Genshin Impact, you are simply the one they chose to take it out on.
People are probably not happy with their lives if they are busy talking about yours. Take heart, and offer them none of your time or attention.
Genshin Impact is a fantastic game but not everyone likes the video game; however, this should not sour your experience with the game. Video games are meant to be shared and enjoyed so do not let anyone take that joy away from you.
Also, so long as you are not playing the game to the point of missing bathroom breaks or not eating, you are not harming anyone so enjoy Genshin Impact.
Some people are gonna have something to say about everything you do but it is best to ignore and forget these kinds of people.
