You’re frustrated that Instagram only allows you to see people’s profile pictures in a circle and not in the full-size. Luckily, Instagram actually uploads profile pictures in full rectangular/square resolution rather than the actual circle which means that you can see these pictures in the full size.

If you’ve lost the full-size version of your profile picture, you can retrieve the full-size version of the photo by using as well as some third-party apps and websites. You can also do this if you like someone’s display picture and you want to have the full-size version of that picture.

How to View Full-Size Instagram Photos

All photos including your profile pictures are compressed when uploaded to Instagram so that can make your Dp come across as blurry rather than hide quality. This is done so that Instagram can provide the best user experience in terms of photo loading, optimizing network connectivity, and taking up minimal space in the phone’s memory and drive.

Since Instagram photos are compressed, if you like a profile picture, chances are you’d rather have an enlarged version with the best resolution, rather than the compressed blurry version. Since Instagram uploads the full-size version of profile pictures, you can still use third-party apps and to get access to high-quality versions.
