To do so, clear the app from the history of the device you are using. Once you have cleared out of it, wait a couple of minutes so it can fully restart and then reopen the Uber Eats App on your phone.

Fix 6 – Log Into Another Account
It may just be your account that is the problem. That is why you are not able to properly use the Uber Eats app and the Place Order button is not working and grayed out. One solution may be to just use a different Uber Eats app account.
Maybe your daughter has her own account, or your best friend also has an account. Ask anyone who has a Uber Eats account for their email and password, and then use their account instead of on your same device.
Make sure you change the delivery address so that your food is not sent to the house of the account owner. This will hopefully get you logged in to an account that actually works on the app so you can get back to your usual food purchasing and place your order on Uber Eats.
Fix 7 – Contact Uber
If all else is still failing and you just really need to order some food through the Uber Eats app because you do not have any time to run to the restaurant, but the app is not letting you press Place Order and is grayed out, reaching out to the Uber Eats customer support is another solution you can try.

Fix – Check If Uber Eats Server is Down
If you keep trying to get your Uber Eats app to work so you can look at some new restaurants and figure out what new cuisine you would like to try for dinner today but you are unable to click on Place Order and the button is grayed out, Uber Eat’s server may be to blame.
It is very common for networks to go out for a couple minutes every once and a while, so do not fret. There are quite a few ways to try and get it back up and starting, or you may not even be connected to your network at all.
Sometimes a quick reset is all your connection may need to get back up and running. You can also go to downdetctor.com and type Uber Eats into the search box. This will let you know if the Uber Eats server is currently having any issues.
Once you search it, the website will tell you if Uber Eats’ network is up and working. If it is not, you will have to wait until it is or you can try to restart your router.
Otherwise, if your network is not down, that is not why your Uber Eats app is not working and the server is not to blame, something else is.
6. Device Issue
Fix – Restart Device
Restarting the device that you are using to try and use the Uber Eats app is another potential solution for getting back to being able to press the Place Button on the app when you find out what you want to eat.
To restart your device, just turn it off. Doing this will vary depending on the device that you are using since every device has different buttons and settings. If you are unsure on how to turn off your device, just look it up and you will be met with plenty of information on how to turn off the device you are using.
Once you turn off your device, leave it off for a couple of minutes so it can fully restart. After a few minutes have passed, you can turn your device back on which will complete the reset.
Now that your device is power back and you have officially reset it, open your Uber Eats app back up. This reset will have hopefully allowed for your device to figure itself out and the Uber Eats app will be potentially working as usual for you so you can finally place your order.
Fix 2 – Force Restart Device
A force restart may also be the answer to your issues with the Uber Eats app on your device. Doing this will take it just a step further than normally restarting your device, as it is a force restart. Doing this will change depending on your device to try and access the Uber Eats app.
Since every device has different buttons and settings, simply search the device you are using along with force restart and you will easily be able to locate how to force restart your device.
When doing a force restart, your device will automatically power back up once the reset is complete.
Once your device has turned back on, you will have to unlock your device and then you can once again try and get back to utilizing the Uber Eats app and getting your food delivered to your home as the Place Order button will do hopefully be working now.
7. Internet Connection Issue
Fix – Restart Internet on Phone
You can also try to fix your issues with the Uber Eats app not allowing you to press the Place Order button because it is grayed out by restarting the internet connection on the phone that you are using the Uber Eats app on.
This is a simple and fast potential remedy that can hopefully get you back to browsing the site for whatever good you are in need of. How you go about restarting your phone will vary based on the device that you are using.
Your network settings will typically be located on the menu or setting of whatever phone you try to use the Uber Eats app. Once you can find this setting area, you should see your network settings.
Simply turn off any network settings for a while and then turn it back on after a couple of minutes. This will restart your network on the phone you are trying to use the Uber Eats app on and will potentially allow you to finally be able to press Place Order and get that food you have been craving all day delivered right to your doorstep.
Fix 3 – Restart Router
A bad internet connection may also cause your problems with your Uber Eats app not allowing you to press Place Order because it is grayed out. By locating your Wi-Fi router and resetting it, this will improve a faulty internet connection.
To reset it, you can either simply unplug it from the plug in for a couple of minutes then plug it back in, or locate the power button on the router itself and turn it off for a while before turning it back on.
Also, the longer you keep your router unplugged, the longer your internet will have to take a breather and allow a true reset. If you only unplug your router for a few seconds, this might not be enough time for your router to truly reset and you will not solve any of your issues.
Once you have given your router a true break and allowed for your internet connection to fully reset, try to see if your Uber Eats app will finally let you press on Place Order and hopefully the button is not longer grayed out and you can once and for all get the food you have been working so hard to get.
Fix 4 – Switch to Data Vice Versa
Your Wi-Fi connection or cellular data may also be inhibiting your Uber Eats app from working for you and letting you press Place Order.
One change may be to switch to your cellular data, if that is an option with the current phone that you have, if you are currently connected to Wi-Fi, or vice versa meaning you switch back on to your Wi-Fi connection if you are currently trying to access the Uber Eats app on your data already.
Once you have changed to either Wi-Fi or data, try again to see if you can fully use the Uber Eats app and finally press Place Order.
Fix 5 – Turn Off VPN
Turning off your VPN will change your internet settings, which could be another potential way to get back to using your Uber Eats app and pressing Place Order. If you are using an IOS device, follow these steps.
1. Start by opening up Settings on your device.
2. Next, go to Network.
3. Now, click on VPN and then either click Disconnect or tap on the toggle so that it turns to gray.
If you are using an Android device, follow these steps instead.
1. From the home screen of your Android device, scroll up so that you can see all of your apps and go to Settings.
2. Now, tap on Network and Internet Advanced.
3. You will now see an option that says VPN and choose that.
4. Next, click Turn Off, and you will officially turn off the VPN on your device.
Whether you are using an IOS device or an Android, turning your VPN off will hopefully be the solution that allows you to fully use your Uber Eats app on your device and press Place Order to get your food.
