Uber Eats Place Order Button Greyed Out

Ssometimes when you go to press Place Order so you can officially order your food, the button may be grayed out and you can not click on it to get your food ordered or delivered.

There are many different reasons why this is happening, such as you have not attached a card to your account, Uber Eats server is down, a bug causing these problems, or maybe your internet connection is just not working.

Thankfully, there are plenty of solutions you can try to get your order placed through Uber Eats and enjoy your food.

 Why is Uber Eats Place Order Greyed Out?

1. You Haven’t Left Delivery Options in Your Address Fix

Fix – Edit Your Address and Select an Option Under Delivery Options

You may need to update the delivery options on your Uber Eats app so that you can click the Place Order button and the restaurant can get to work on making your food. Follow these steps to do that.

1. First, open up your Uber Eats app and press on your address at the very top the screen.

2. Next, enter a new address, it can be an old one that is already in Uber Eats so you do not need to make anything up.

3. Now, enter your delivery instructions as to whether you want them to meet you at the door, leave it at the door, or meet outside, and click on Save.

Updating these preferences and addresses should hopefully fx your issues in Uber Eats and get the Place Order button to fnally work for you and no longer be grayed out.

2. Ad Block is On, Ether in Chrome on PC or Android

Fix – Pause Adblock

You may also have an Adblock in place if you are using Chrome, a PC or an Android. You can easily pause this Adblock so that you can get back to pressing the Place Order button and enjoying your food.

1. First, open up the device you are having these problems with.

2. Next, click on Settings.

3. Now, press on Privacy and Security.

4. Then, select Site Settings.

5. You will now see an option saying Additional Content Settings and you will want to press that.

6. Next, click on Ads and then click on Pause or Disable Adblock.

Once you have done this, you will hopefully be able to press Place Order and get to enjoying your food.

3. There Isn’t A Card Address To Your Account

There also might not be a card attached to your Uber Eats account which will cause the Place Order button to be grayed out. Thankfully, adding a card is very simple and can be done with these steps.

1. Open up Uber Eats and click on your Account in the bottom right corner.

2. Next, go to Wallet

3. Once there, scroll until you see the Add Payment Method option and click on it.

4. You can now add a credit card, debit card, or even link up your Paypal or Apple Pay.

Once you have typed in your payment information, try to see if the Place Order button is no longer grayed out and you can use it to buy your food.

4. There’s A Bug

Fix – Update App

You may just need to update your Uber Eats app so that the Place Order button is no longer grayed out. To see if there is an update available, just open up the app store, play store, or wherever else you download apps onto your device.

Go to the updates section and see if the Uber Eays app is in need of one. If it is, go ahead and update it. Once updated, see if you can now press the Place Order button and it is no longer grayed out. If there was no update available, this is not the cause of your issues with the Uber Eats app.

Fix 2 – Restart App 

First, try to simply restart the Uber Eats app so that the Place Order button is no longer grayed out.

To do so, clear the app from the history of the device you are using. Once you have cleared out of it, wait a couple of minutes so it can fully restart and then reopen the Uber Eats App on your phone.

This will help refresh and reboot the system, which could potentially allow the Uber Eats app to finally starts letting your press the Place Order button and it is no longer grayed out so you can get to enjoy your food when it is delivered.

Fix 3 – Log Out Then In

A very quick and possible fx is to simply log out of the Uber Eats app and then log right back in.

This can help let the app refresh and regroup, potentially allowing you to beat your problems and actually use the app to place your order and the button will no longer be grayed out.

1. To log out, click on your Account in the lower right corner.

2. Now, a menu will appear and give you many options to choose from.

3. At the very top, select View Account.

4. Now, you will see the option to Sign Out, click that.

5. Will you then just need to log back in and this will hopefully solve your problems with using the Uber Eats app.

If you do not remember your password, do not fear. Once you log out, you can easily send a password reset link to the email associated with your account and gain access right back in.

This should hopefully get you back to browsing the Uber Eats app so that you can figure out what food you are craving and finally be able to actually press the place order button.

Fix 4 – Clear Cache

You can also clear cache in your Uber Eats app which just erases any data that has been saved onto the app and is no longer needed by you or by Uber Eats. Follow these steps to do just that.

1. On the device that you are using that is having problems with the Uber Eats app, open up the Settings.

2. Next, within Settings, go to the page where all of your apps are located.

3. Once you are on your app’s page, scroll until you find Uber Eats and select it.

4. You will now see a button that says Clear Cache and click on it.

Now that you have cleared the cache on your Uber Eats app, exit out of the app and then reopen it. Hopefully, you can now get back to using the Uber Eats app on your device.

Fix 5 – Reinstall App

You may need to reinstall the Uber Eats app if you have any issues with clicking on the Place Order button that is grayed out. To do this, on your device simply delete the Uber Eats app.

Once you have deleted it, open up the app store, play store, or anywhere else you can download your apps from and reinstall your Uber Eats app. Once the Uber Eats app is back on your device, you will have to log in to it again.

Now that you are re-logged into your recently reinstalled Uber Eats app, you can once again try and see if this has solved your issues and finally click on Place Order and get your food delivered from Uber Eats.

Fix 6 – Log Into Another Account

It may just be your account that is the problem. That is why you are not able to properly use the Uber Eats app and the Place Order button is not working and grayed out. One solution may be to just use a different Uber Eats app account.

Maybe your daughter has her own account, or your best friend also has an account. Ask anyone who has a Uber Eats account for their email and password, and then use their account instead of on your same device.

Make sure you change the delivery address so that your food is not sent to the house of the account owner. This will hopefully get you logged in to an account that actually works on the app so you can get back to your usual food purchasing and place your order on Uber Eats.

If all else is still failing and you just really need to order some food through the Uber Eats app because you do not have any time to run to the restaurant, but the app is not letting you press Place Order and is grayed out, reaching out to the Uber Eats customer support is another solution you can try.

To start, use the search at the very top of your webpage. In this engine, type something similar to “Place Order button is not working” and then click search.

Once you do this, Uber Eats will provide you with various links that will allow you to try and problem solve why your Uber Eats app is not letting you click on Place Order and the button is grayed out.

You can also log into your account on the website and click on Get Personalized Help to see if that better works for you. If their website for customer service is still of no help to you, you can call 833-275-2387 and get in touch with a live customer service representative from Uber Eats.

There will be some automated messaged you have to click through before you can fully get in touch with a live customer service representative.

5. Server is Down

If you keep trying to get your Uber Eats app to work so you can look at some new restaurants and figure out what new cuisine you would like to try for dinner today but you are unable to click on Place Order and the button is grayed out, Uber Eat’s server may be to blame.

It is very common for networks to go out for a couple minutes every once and a while, so do not fret. There are quite a few ways to try and get it back up and starting, or you may not even be connected to your network at all.

Your network settings will typically be located on the menu or setting of whatever phone you try to use the Uber Eats app. Once you can find this setting area, you should see your network settings.

One change may be to switch to your cellular data, if that is an option with the current phone that you have, if you are currently connected to Wi-Fi, or vice versa meaning you switch back on to your Wi-Fi connection if you are currently trying to access the Uber Eats app on your data already.

Once you have changed to either Wi-Fi or data, try again to see if you can fully use the Uber Eats app and finally press Place Order.

Fix 5 – Turn Off VPN

Turning off your VPN will change your internet settings, which could be another potential way to get back to using your Uber Eats app and pressing Place Order. If you are using an IOS device, follow these steps.

1. Start by opening up Settings on your device.

2. Next, go to Network.

3. Now, click on VPN and then either click Disconnect or tap on the toggle so that it turns to gray.

If you are using an Android device, follow these steps instead.

1. From the home screen of your Android device, scroll up so that you can see all of your apps and go to Settings.

2. Now, tap on Network and Internet Advanced.

3. You will now see an option that says VPN and choose that.

4. Next, click Turn Off, and you will officially turn off the VPN on your device.

Whether you are using an IOS device or an Android, turning your VPN off will hopefully be the solution that allows you to fully use your Uber Eats app on your device and press Place Order to get your food.
