2. Loose Cable Connection

Fix – Reconnect Cables

You may just not be putting enough pressure into the cables connected to your Samsung, Sony, or LG TV. If the cables are not connected properly, this could be why your TV screen is yellow.

All you need to do is use extra strength to make your cable ft into their respective ports. Having a little firmer of a push will potentially allow you to make the cables fit into your Samsung, Sony, or LG TV. Once the cables are correctly connected, your TV screen should hopefully return to normal and no longer be yellow.

Fix 2 – Replace HDMI

Your HDMI cable may be why your Samsung, LG, or Sony TV screen is yellow. Buying a new HDMI cable (view on Amazon) might be your only option to be able to watch anything on your TV screen.

One way to get one is to reach out to Samsung, LG, or Sony directly and ask for a replacement HDMI cable. They will most likely offer to replace yours for free and send you your new HDMI cable, but it can take up to a few weeks for them to hear your problem and send you a new one.

You can also buy one yourself to get your new HDMI cable much faster. If you want to shop in person, head to any store similar to Walmart, Best Buy, or even Target. Once you get there, go to the technology department and locate a new HDMI cable.

If you are struggling to find an HDMI cable, ask the nearest worker to help you, and they will give you various HDMI cables that work with the Samsung, Sony, or LG TV. You can also fnd one on Amazon, eBay, or any other online store and get it shipped to your house.

These types of HDMI cables range from $5 to $80, so you should be able to find one that fits your budget if you do not want to wait for Samsung, LG, or Sony to send you your new one. Once you have replaced your HDMI, see if your screen is no longer yellow so you can watch something you like.

3. TV Screen Damaged

Fix – Get It Repaired

If there is an internal issue causing your TV screen to be yellow that can be fixed, you can repair your Samsung, Sony, or LG TV. This can either be done by you, or you can take your TV in to be repaired.

If you are repairing it on your own, you will need to purchase any replacement parts and tools you need to fix it. Then, you can search for videos to walk you through the repairments.

If you do not want to repair the TV yourself, you can go into a Samsung, Sony, or LG store where they can do the repairments for a fee.

Otherwise, if none of their stores are near you, you can also go to Best Buy or other technological-based stores where they can repair your TV for a fee.

Fix 2 – Replace TV

Another option you have if the screen stays yellow on your Samsung, LG, or Sony TV is to replace said TV.

If there is proof that you did not cause the damage making your screen yellow, you will most likely be given a refund or another working Samsung, LG, or Sony TV as the fault was not yours.

If you caused damage to the screen and it is obvious, you can still replace the Samsung, Sony, or LGTV, but you will not get a replacement one, and you will have to purchase the new TV on your own.

However, if you purchased a warranty or insurance on your Samsung, Sony, or LG TV and are still within the time frame, your insurance or a warranty will cover some or all of the cost of purchasing a new TV.

Fix 3 – Contact TV Manufacturer

To contact Samsung, go to samsung.com/us/support/contact/. Once you get to the website, select your language, and you can get started by letting the company know about your problems with their television.

As you scroll down on the website, you will see a list of products that Samsung creates, and you can select televisions as the product making the problem you are experiencing. You will then have to choose which type of television or search the serial code on the back of your television.

Samsung will now give you various ways to get your television back up and working again. If their website for customer service is still of no help to you, you can call 1-800-726-7864 and get in touch with a live customer service representative from Samsung.

To contact LG, you can call 1-800-243-0000 and get in touch with a live customer service representative from LG. If you do not want to call anyone, you can go to lg.com/us/support and type in your TV model to receive support. If you have a Sony TV, visit sony.com/support. From there, click on TV and Projectors to get help with your TV screen being yellow.

4. There’s A Bug

Fix – Restart TV

One way that is a pretty simple fix but tends to be overlooked is to simply unplug your TV to restart the said TV since the screen is yellow.

The easiest way to do this is to just walk over to the outlet your TV is plugged into that is having issues with the screen being yellow. Once you have located this outlet, you must unplug the cord connected to your TV from the outlet you have found.

Once this is done, give your TV 60 seconds to be unplugged and not be on or working. After this minute has passed, plug the cord back into the outlet and see if your TV will now work and the screen is no longer yellow.

If the outlet is challenging to get to, you can also just unplug the cord from your TV directly. To ensure you are unplugging the right cord, follow the cord from your outlet to your TV. Once you have located the proper cord, unplug it from your TV. Again, give it a minute to be unplugged and fully turned off.

In both instances, the longer you leave the TV unplugged, whether from the tv itself or from the outlet, the better for your TV. After a minute, plug the cord back into your TV. Turn your TV on and see if this gets the screen to return to normal and no longer be yellow.

Fix 2 – Cold Restart TV

You can also perform a cold restart to your TV as an attempt to fix your screen being yellow. If you have an LG TV, follow these steps.

1. Press down on the power button on your LG TV for ten seconds.

2. Then, once your TV turns off, unplug it.

3. Now, wait one minute and plug it back in.

4. The LG logo should appear on your screen as it powers back on.

Doing this will hopefully get your TV screen to stop being yellow. If you have a Samsung TV, follow these steps.

1. Grab your Samsung Remote and simultaneously hold the power and volume down buttons.

2. Your TV screen will turn black.

3. After a few moments, your TV will turn on, and it should feature the Samsung logo.

4. Once it powers back on, the cold reset is complete.

Doing this will hopefully get your TV screen to stop being yellow. If you have a Sony TV, follow these steps.

1. Go to your TV and simultaneously hold the power and volume down buttons. Do this on your TV, not the remote.

2. While holding down the buttons, unplug your TV for a couple of seconds, and then plug it back in.

3. Keep holding down the buttons until a green LED light appears by the Sony logo on your TV.

4. Once the light appears, you can let go.

After completing these steps, your TV screen should return to normal and no longer be yellow. You can get back to watching your regular content.

Fix 4 – Factory Reset TV

You can also perform a factory restart to your TV as an attempt to fix your screen being yellow. If you have an LG TV, follow these steps.

1. Use your remote to open your Menu.

2. Then, go to All Settings.

3. Now, click on Support.

4. Next, go to General.

5. Click On Reset to Initial Settings.

6. Select Confirm or Okay.

7. Your LG TV will power down and back on when the reset is complete.

Doing this will hopefully get your TV screen to stop being yellow. If you have a Samsung TV, follow these steps.

1. Use your remote to open your Menu.

2. Then, go to Settings.

3. Click on General.

4. Select Reset.

5. You must now type in your Samsung 4-digit code to reset your TV.

6. Click on Okay.

7. Your Samsung TV will power down and back on when the reset is complete.

Doing this will hopefully get your TV screen to stop being yellow. If you have a Sony TV, follow these steps.

1. Use your remote to open your Home page.

2. Then, go to Settings.

3. Now, click on Storage and Reset.

4. Then go to Factory Data Reset.

5. Finally, click on Erase Everything. Confirm by clicking on Yes.

Your Sony TV will power down and back on when the reset is complete.

Doing this will hopefully get your TV screen to stop being yellow. You must start fresh following the reset. No matter what type of TV you use, you must start fresh following the reset. All settings and features you had saved will be gone.

5. TV Firmware Out of Date

Fix – Update Firmware

Like your phone and other devices, your TV requires frequent system updates. Your TV may be working on an outdated system that is causing your issues with your TV screen being yellow.

Thankfully, you can take some easy steps to update your TV, and hopefully, you can finally watch your TV. To update your LG TV, follow these steps.

1. With your remote, go to Settings on your LG TV.

6. Another way to update your TV is by getting a USB port. Once you have a USB, go to

samsung.com/us/support and type your Samsung TV model code into the search bar.

1. You will then see an Update File and will have to download that onto your USB drive.

2. Now, plug your USB drive into your Samsung TV.

3. As soon as you plug in the USB drive, your tv will automatically start to update.

However, if there was no software update available, this is not what your Samsung TV is having issues with having a yellow TV screen. To update your Sony TV, follow these steps.

1. To start, go to your Sony TV and grab your remote.

2. Then, click on the Settings button.

3. Next, click on Customer Support, Setup, or Product Support. The heading will change depending on the Sony TV model you own.

4. From there, click on Software Update.

5. Now, go to Network. This skip might not exist, depending on your own Sony TV model.

6. Click on the update and select Yes, Okay, or Confirm to start updating your TV.

However, if there was no software update available, this is not what your Sony TV is having issues with having a yellow TV screen.
