This can be annoying as it means you can’t view your stories and your Snapchat videos won’t load picture snaps won’t load.
A lot of Snapchat users have been complaining about stories not loading alongside with their snaps not loading. Some users have said that when they try and load a story, all they see is a blurry screen with a loading circle in the middle. Other users have complained that all they see is a black screen when they try and load a Snapchat.
There have also been complaints that the Snapchat snaps aren’t loading for specific friends and it’s loading fine for everyone else. I’m going to show you why you’re experiencing loading issues and a few steps to fix the problem. By the end of this article, your Snaps should be loading just fine.
Why Won’t Snaps & Stories Load?
The first reason why your snaps and stories won’t load is that your Wi-Fi isn’t connected to the router properly which means that your internet coverage to Load snaps will be low. Snaps require internet to load properly and when you think your iPhone or Android is connected to Wi-Fi, the router may not be connected to the internet.
The second reason as to why your stories and snaps won’t load is because the snapchat servers are down. Snapchat is hosted on a server and this allows it to be accessible to the users. If the server is down, you’re going to have issues when it comes to loading snaps
The last reason as to why snaps aren’t loading properly is because the app has a bug. If you’re using an old version of Snapchat, you shouldn’t be surprised if you’re having issues. I’m going to show you how to get rid of potential bugs which may be stopping you from using Snapchat properly.
1. Switch from Wi-Fi to data
The first step that I recommend you take in this situation is to switch from Wi-Fi to data vice versa. If an internet problem is causing snaps not to load, switching is going to fix the issue. Data is a more reliable source of internet than Wi-Fi is so it’s best to use data to load snaps, however, it is going to drain your data by a considerable amount.
If you don’t have any data, you can forget your wi-fi network and you can try to and connect to it again. If there’s a problem with the connection, restarting it is going to help you connect to the internet again. After you’ve tried this, you can go back on Snapchat and check if your stories and snapchats are loading properly.
2. Log out the into Snapchat
If you’ve tried the steps above and your Snapchat is still not working properly, you can try logging out then into Snapchat. If there’s a glitch that’s not allowing the stories to load properly, this may help fix the problem.
If you’ve logged out of Snapchat and try to log back in to realise that you can’t log in again, you’ll know that there’s an issue with Snapchats server. If this step is still not allowing your snaps to load properly, go to the next step.
3. Wait for the Server
If you’ve tried all of the steps above and none of them have worked for you, it’s pretty fair to conclude that the Snapchat servers are down. Snapchat is stored on a server and this allows you to have access to the app.
If the servers are down, it means that it can’t handle the IP requests it’s reiving, therefore, it stops responding to any requests until the number of requests has gone down. The only thing you can do in this situation is to wait for the servers to come back up. This shouldn’t take more than a few hours. If you’re still having issues with Snapchat after waiting for a while, come back to this article and follow the other steps.
4. Clear Snapchat Cache
The last step I want you to take is to clear your Snapchat cache. If your memory is too full, this can cause all sorts of problems within Snapchat. If you want to reduce your storage, you can either do this by deleting files on your device or just clearing the Snapchat cache.
The cache is the temporary files stored by Snapchat in the directory and this can reduce the storage on your device drastically. This is why you should clear Snapchats cache because it can reduce the amount of storage on your phone, therefore, get rid of issues on snapchat and your snaps will be able to load. This can be done in settings on Snapchat.
