Snapchat Opening Snaps and Messages By Itself? Try This

Delete Snapchat App

Usually, this problem is caused by a bug within Snapchat chat – this means that there’s an error in the app’s backend that’s causing unexpected results. The first thing to do in this situation is to update Snapchat. Usually, the main features of an update are to fix bugs within the app – if you go to update the app then it’s likely that you’ll see bug fixes in the update description.

Once you’ve gone to the App Store or Play store and updated Snapchat, you can revisit the app and you should stop experience issues relating to your messages.

Delete Snapchat

If the problem persists, the next thing to do is to delete the Snapchat app from your device. Deleting the app is going to allow you to download a refreshed version of the app which could stop the problem that you’re experiencing. You can usually hold down the app on your device and select the options to delete it. Once deleted, you can either go to the App Store or Play Store and re-download the app.

Force Restart your Device

If you’re still experiencing problems, it could be your device that’s causing it. To get rid of any bugs and glitches that are going on within your device, you can force restart it. Force restarting will wipe the hardware system on your device which could fix a numerous amount of problems going on within your device,


The first way is by holding the power button for 30 settings. After 30 seconds, your screen will be forced to power down.

Another method is by holding the power button + the volume down. Your phone should power down after doing this for a while.


For iPhone 8 or Later:

Quickly press-release the volume up button, then press-release the volume down button in quick succession. Once done, press-hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

For iPhone 7 & 7 Plus:

Press-hold the sleep/wake button in tandem with the volume down button for at least 7-10 seconds. Do not release them until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

For iPhone 6 Plus & Previous Models:

Press-hold the home and side/top button (as per the model) for 10 seconds. Do not release them until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
