How to Share TikTok on Instagram

You may not know how to share a TikTok video on your Instagram account, as it is not as straightforward as sharing an Instagram video on your TikTok.

But not to worry. In this article, we will show you in clear and easy-to-follow steps how to share your TikTok content on Instagram to increase your audience reach without hassle.

How to Share TikTok on Instagram

1. Save and Post the Video As a Reel

One of the easiest ways to share your TikTok content on Instagram is to save the video and then post it as an Instagram Reel.

Instagram reels are 90 seconds-long max videos that you can either share with your Followers on Feed or with the wider public on Explore.

  • If your Instagram account is public, you can share your Reels to a dedicated space in the Explore section where it can be seen by anyone on Instagram.

When you click on the Explore tab on Instagram and play the videos there, you are accessing public Instagram Reels.

  • If your Instagram account is private, you can only share the Reel to your followers on Feed. But note that in this case, people will not be able to use the original audio from the Reels. Also, people cannot share the Reels with others who do not follow you on Instagram.

Now that you understand what a Reel is and how it works, let’s look at how you can save your TikTok video and then post it as a Reel on Instagram.

Step 1 – Save the TikTok video

First, save the video from TikTok using the steps below:

1. On the video on TikTok, click on the Share button at the bottom right of the screen

2. Select Save Video from the options

3. The video is now saved to your phone

Step 2 – Create a Reel on Instagram

1. Launch the Instagram app and log into your account

2. Tap on the Reels tab to create a new Reel

3. Now, select the + icon at the bottom left corner of the Reels screen. It should appear as gallery with + on it

4. Instagram will then access your phone storage

5. Select the saved TikTok video from its location on your phone and add it as a Reel on Instagram

An alternative to this process is to click the Share button on TikTok and then click on Instagram. This will post the video to Feed.

The great thing about posting the TikTok video as a Reel is that it shows up in the Feed of your followers. They do not need to access your profile first to find and view the video. This way, you are able to reach your target audience with a lot less hassle.

The last option for sharing a TikTok video on Instagram is to copy the video link and then share it in a comment on Instagram. Even though this is the simplest method, it is also the method with the least chance of being seen by as many people as you may wish.

To do this, simply copy the TikTok video link using the steps outlined in number 4 above, and then paste it as a comment on any of your posts. It is best to paste this on a post that has huge engagement to increase the chances of its being seen.
