How to See Reshares on Instagram

If you want to see reshares on Instagram, you can only see them if you have a Business profile. This means that if you do not already have a Business account on Instagram, you will need to switch your account to one.

You can do this quickly, and it will not affect any aspects of your account. The only things that will change are that you can now have a title in your bio, and you can see the reshares on Instagram. You can follow these simples step to make your account a business profile.

How to See Post Reshares on Instagram

1. View Story Reshares

Step 1: Make A Business Profile

1. First, open up Instagram on any device you have and log into your account.

2. Next, go to your profile by clicking on your picture in the bottom right corner.

3. Now, click on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.

4. Then, click on Settings.

5. Now, go to Account.

6. Tap on Switch to Professional Account.

7. Click on Continue.

8. Next, select any category you want for your business. This can be whatever you want it to be.

9. Now, click Okay to confirm your switch.

10. Finally, click on Business.

Once you have completed these steps, you have officially changed your account from a typical Instagram profile to a business one. Now that you have a Business account on Instagram, you have the ability to see the reshares on the app.

Step 2: Go to Options on the Post, Click View Story Reshares to See Current Public Reshares

Now that you have created a Business account on Instagram, you can start setting the reshares. They are a couple of different ways you can see reshares on Instagram. The first way is by looking directly at the post. To see the reshares this way, follow these steps.

1. First, open up Instagram on any device you have and log into your account.

2. Then, go to the post that you want to see the reshares on.

3. Now, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the post on Instagram.

4. Then, click on View Story Reshares.

5. This will bring you to a page where you can view the current public Reshares that this post has. Unfortunately, if an account is set to private for their privacy settings and you are not following the account, they will not appear in this number.

Their privacy setting exists because they do not want random people to see their information on Instagram, so you will not be able to see that they Reshared this post.

This is one of the quickest ways to be able to see how many Reshares a post as if you have a Business account on Instagram. Remember, you will not be able to see if someone Reshared it if they have a private Instagram account and you are not following it.

Additionally, if you are looking at a post that was originally shared by a private account, only those that follow them can share this post.

This is because they are a private profile on Instagram, so they do not want their content to be shared with those that do not follow them. You will still be able to see how many times it was Reshared but their followers, but anyone who does not follow them cannot Reshare their post.

2. Look Through Stories Feed Manually to See If Anyone Has Shared It

Another way you can view the amount of Reshares is by looking at your story feeds to see if anyone has reshared it. This way might be more time-consuming than others, but it will still get you to see how many people you are following have Shared a specific post. To use this option, follow these steps.

1. First, open up Instagram on any device you have and log into your account.

2. Now, click through your stories. These will appear at the very top of your screen when you open up Instagram.

3. Every time you see the post that you want to know how many times was Reshared, count.

4. Once you have gone through all of your stories, you will have your total count of how many times the post was Reshared by your followers.

While this is an excellent way to get a sense of how many times a post was Reshared, this is not an accurate count of how many times a post has been Reshared. You are only seeing whom you are following.

There could be so many other accounts out there that have Reshared the post onto their story that you do not follow. You can go through random accounts to see if they have the post Reshared onto their story, but there is no way you can view go through every Instagram account that exists.

You also cannot see if any accounts Reshared the post onto their story if they are private and you do not follow them. So, you can still get an idea of how many times a post has been Reshared by going through the stories of those that you follow, but this will not get you the accurate number of Reshares a post has.

3. View the Posts Insights to See How Many Times It’s Been Sent in DMs

You can access Insights on Instagram if you have created your business account. With Insights, you get all kinds of insider information like who has unfollowed you, what demographic follows you, how many likes you get per post, what your more liked post is, and so much more.

Another thing you can view with Insights is how many times your post has been reshared through direct messages on Instagram. To choose this option, follow these steps.

1. First, open up Instagram on any device you have and log into your account.

2. Next, go to your profile by clicking on your picture in the bottom right corner.

3. Now, click on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.

4. Then, click on Settings.

5. Now, go to Account.

6. Click on Insights.

7. Find the post you want to know about and click on it.

8. From there, you will see a lot of different information about your post. You are looking for how many times it was reshared through direct messages on Instagram.

Just like with counting the number of times a post has been reshared through Stories on Instagram, using how many times it was sent through direct messages is not a totally accurate way of telling how many times your post was reshared, but it will give you some idea.

With this number, you cannot tell how many times a post has been shared on a Story if a private account you do not follow has reshared this post in any way, and other ways that people can reshare your post.

So, you can still get an idea of how many times a post has been reshared by looking at your Insights on Instagram, but this will not get you the accurate number of reshares a post has.

If You Don’t Have A Business Profile:

1. If Someone Tags You In the Post Reshare, You’ll See It In Your DMs

If you did not want to make a Business account on Instagram or cannot seem to make one successfully, there are still some ways you can figure out how many times specific posts have been reshared.

If you were tagged in a post that someone else reshared on Instagram, this reshare will appear in your direct messages on Instagram. Usually, if someone is resharing a post that you originally posted, you are typically in the photo you posted.

Then, when another account reshares your post, they tag you in it because you are in the image. So, when you get tagged in this reshare, you will notice you have a direct message from them.

The direct message is just Instagram letting you know you were tagged in a post. This will happen if they actually tag you in the post or if they tag your username in the caption. Both of these instances will result in you getting an alert in your direct messages.

However, this is not an accurate way to learn how often your post was reshared. People can reshare the post without tagging you, a private account can reshare the post on their account or their story, and someone could direct message your post to another user.

There are many ways to reshare a post that does not include tagging you in the reshare. So, you can still get an idea of how many times a post has been reshared by counting how many times you got a direct message because you were tagged in the reshare, but this will not get you the accurate number of reshares a post has.

2. If a Certain Group of People is Liking the Post, and They Follow the Same Person, They’ve Shared It on Their Story

Another way to learn how many reshares your post has when you do not have a Business Account on Instagram is by looking at the actions of people who follow you. If a certain group of people like your post that does not follow you, but they all follow the same person, this means that person shared your post on their story.

Then, this group of people clicked on your post through the reshare on the story and liked your photo. However, this is not an accurate way to learn how often your post was reshared.

People can reshare the post onto their story without anyone liking it, a private account can reshare the post on their account or their story, and someone could direct message your post to another user.

There are many ways to reshare a post that does not include a particular group of people that do not follow you liking your post.

So, you can still get an idea of how many times a post has been reshared by seeing if a particular group of people who do not follow you like your post, but this will not get you the accurate number of reshares a post has.
