TVs haven’t been as popular since smartphones and new software came on your PC, so you probably check out your favorite shows on TV every once in a while. Usually, you can watch TV without any problems but sometimes problems can arise which can stop you from watching your favorite program.

There are common problems you can experience such as your TV saying no signal, the box no longer working, or your TV now turning on. You may also experience issues such as a pixelated screen. This can be caused by a whole host of things such as your antenna being obstructed, satellite dish being obstructed, or loss of connection from the cable to the TV. There may also be problems with the cable that allow you to view the tv using the box.

If you want to troubleshoot the problems that you’re experiencing, you can reset the TV so that you can the problem you’re experiencing can go away.

Note: Different TVs have different ways of being reset so if you’re not sure on the exact way to reset your TV, you can refer to the manufacturer manual or you can check the manufacturers website online.

Resetting your TV

The first thing to do when it comes to resetting your TV would be to unplug the TV power cord and leave it for at least one minute. Plug it back in and go to the MENU button and use the methods below to reset your TV. Depending on if your TV has WIFI capabilities, you should use the methods below that suit your TV.

Non WIFI

1. On your remote, press the MENU button to open up the menu.

2. Highlight INSTALLATION at the top of the menu using the arrow keys on the remote. Press Enter to bring up a new set of INSTALLATION icons.

3. Highlight SYSTEM STATUS at the top.

4. Highlight System Information and press ENTER on your remote.

5. At the top of SYSTEM INFORMATION, use the arrows on your remote and select FACTORY DEFAULTS by scrolling left and right.

6. Highlight YES and press ENTER. If your TV has a PIN code, you’ll need to enter it. Once done, select DONE and press Enter.

7. Select YES and press Enter when the warning message appears. Your TV will automatically turn off after a few seconds.

8. Once your TV is Off, unplug the cord and plug it again and wait for your TV to turn on.

Alternatively

1. Press the SETUP button on the remote > Reset TV.

2. Enter your PIN if your TV has one set.

3. Select YES then press OK and your TV will turn Off.

WIFI

1. Press the MENU button on your remote.

2. Select SETTINGS > SETUP > RESET > ENTER.

3. If your TV has a PIN code, enter it > go to DONE then select ENTER.

4. Select YES in the confirmation screen and press ENTER.

Alternatively

1. Press the SETUP button on the remote > Reset TV.

2. Enter your PIN if your TV has one set.

3. Select YES then press OK and your TV will turn Off.
