How to Remove Firestick From Alexa App

There are 2 ways to remove Firestick from Alexa app. You can do it directly within the Alexa app or you can do it remotely on Amazon.com to completely deregister the Fire TV stick from your Amazon account. We will explore both options below.

1. Using Amazon’s Alexa App on Your iOS or Android Device

1. Launch the Alexa app on your mobile device. This time, instead of tapping the More icon, tap on devices at the bottom right corner of the the Alexa app home screen

2. Next, tap on All Devices and then select the Fire TV stick that you want to remove from the Alexa app

3. When the Firestick device opens, tap on Settings. It is the gear icon at the top right of the screen

4. Next, tap on the trash icon at the top right of the screen to remove the Fire TV stick from Alexa app

5. Then, tap on Delete to confirm and remove the Fire TV stick from the Alexa app.

If the Firestick device that you want to remove from Alexa app is not currently, you may see a different interface to remove it from Alexa app. Let’s have a look:

1. Launch the Alexa app on your mobile device. This time, instead of tapping the More icon, tap on devices at the bottom right corner of the the Alexa app home screen

2. Next, tap on All Devices and then select the Fire TV stick that you want to remove from the Alexa app

3. On the page that opens, you will see the device Connection Status as Disconnected. At the bottom of the page, you will see Deregister

4. Tap on Deregister to remove the Fire TV stick from the Alexa app, and then confirm the action when prompted.

2. Using Amazon.com

If you do not have access to your phone at the time, you could also head over to Amazon’s website to deregister the Firestick from your account. This will also remove the Firestick from your Alexa app.

To do that, follow the steps below:

1. Go to amazon.com and make sure that you are signed into your Amazon account where the Firestick is registered

2. Hover over Account and Lists at the top right of the screen and select Content and Devices from the dropdown menu

3. Click on the Devices tab. This will open a list of all the devices that are registered to your Amazon account

4. Tap on Fire TV because if it is a Firestick that you want to remove. This will bring up all your Fire TV devices

5. Now, click on the Firestick that you want to remove

6. A new window will open showing the details of the Fire TV stick that you want to remove, so that you are sure to remove the correct device

7. When you are sure, click on Deregister to the right of the screen and confirm the action when prompted

8. And you’re done. The Firestick is now removed from your Amazon account and from the Alexa app on your phone.

If the Alexa app on your phone was open when you performed this action, you may still see the deregistered Firestick in your devices list. But that’s not a problem. All you would need to do is to exit the Alexa app, swipe it away from recent items, and then open it again. You will see that the Fire TV stick is now gone from the Alexa app.
