So, in this article, we have provided clear, easy-to-follow steps on how to log out of your miHoYo Genshin Impact on PS4 and PS5, cross-save to PC, unlink your account, and other account-related actions you may want to take on Genshin Impact.
Can You Log Out of Genshin Impact on PS4?
Yes, you can log out of Genshin Impact on PS4 and on PS5. To play Genshin Impact, you need to create a miHoYO account and be logged into the account. And this process is not irreversible. Just like with any service that requires a login, there is also an option to log out.
However, you would not be able to play the game until you log back in or log in with another account. And if you log in with another account, you will not be able to continue from where you stopped on the last account with the new account.
If you are trying to log out because you are unable to cross-save to PC, then follow the steps below to cross-save your Genshin Impact progress on PC:
1. Pull up the Genshin Impact menu
2. Scroll down and select Settings (the gear icon on the left bar)
3. On the Settings menu, scroll down and select Account
4. Then select User Centre to the right of the screen
5. This will open your PS4 or PS5 native browser
5. When it loads, select Link to the right of the screen
6. You will be prompted to enter your email to receive a verification code
7. Enter your email and then click on Send Code to receive the verification code
8. Then, enter the verification code in the space provided on your PlayStation
9. Create a password. This is the password you will also use to log in on your PC to continue gaming on Genshin Impact
10. Then, agree to the terms and click on Link
11. Then, you will be redirected to a page where you can link your username and a phone number as well. You do not need to do any of those. Your linked email is enough to allow you cross-save and continue gaming on your PC anytime.
12. All you need to do is to open Genshin Impact on your PC and then log in using the email and password that you used during the linking on PS4 or PS5.
This way, you may not need to log out of Genshin Impact on PS4 or PS5 before playing on PC.
How to Log Out of Genshin PS4
If you still want to go ahead and log out of Genshin Impact on PS4, then follow the steps below:
1. Pull up the Genshin Impact menu
2. Scroll down and select Quit to quit the game
3. Confirm to Quit when prompted
4. You will be returned to the Loading screen of Genshin Impact
5. Click on the avatar at the bottom right of the screen. If you click on the left avatar, the game will be closed completely
6. After clicking on the right avatar, the avatar will now appear at the bottom left, and then some icons will appear at the bottom right of the screen
7. Click on the last icon at the bottom right. It looks like a phone with an arrow pointing outwards
8. You will be prompted to confirm the logout. Select OK to log out of your Genshin Impact account
How to Log Out of Genshin Impact on PS5
The method to log out of Genshin Impact on PS5 is pretty much the same as that of logging out on PS4. The interface is the same. Again, simply:

3. Confirm to Quit when prompted
4. You will be returned to the Loading screen of Genshi Impact
5. Click on the avatar at the bottom right of the screen. If you click on the left avatar, the game will be closed completely

How to Switch Genshin Impact Account on PS4
As at the time of writing this article, you cannot use a mobile or PC Genshin Impact account to play on a different PS4 Genshin Impact account using the same PlayStation Network account.
That is, if you have an active mobile or PC Genshin Impact account called [email protected] and you already have a PS4 Genshin Impact account called [email protected], you will not be able to sign in with [email protected] on the same PS Network account that [email protected] uses.
You can only use another Genshin Impact account for PS4 to sign in and switch on PS4. If you already have another PS4 account for Genshin Impact or you want to create one, follow the steps below to switch accounts:
1. Pull up the Genshin Impact menu
2. Scroll down and select Quit to quit the game
3. Confirm to Quit when prompted
4. You will be returned to the Loading screen of Genshin Impact
5. Click on the avatar at the bottom right of the screen. If you click on the left avatar, the game will be closed completely
6. After clicking on the right avatar, the avatar will now appear at the bottom left and then some icons will appear at the bottom right of the screen
7. Click on the last icon at the bottom right. It looks like a phone with an arrow pointing outwards
8. You will be prompted to confirm the logout. Select OK to log out of your Genshin Impact account
9. Then on the screen, log in with your other PS4 Genshin Impact account or create one to switch
If you want to switch to a Genshin Impact account that you already use to play on PC or mobile, you would have to use another PS Network account that does not already have a Genshin Impact account created on it. To do this, please follow the steps below
1. Pull up the PS4 menu
2. Scroll to the right and select the Power icon
3. Select Switch User. If you are using Remote Play at this time, you will be unable to make the switch until you end the remote play
4. Next, your accounts page will show up. If you already have another PS network account, you can select it here. Otherwise, create a new PS network account
5. After logging in, go ahead and download a new Genshin Impact
NOTE: On the startup screen of the new Genshin Impact, you will be given the option to link your existing PC or Mobile Genshin Impact account to Genshin on your PS4, so that you can use that existing PC or mobile account for the new Genshin Impact game you just downloaded on PS4 or PS5.
This option will only show up on the startup screen; you will not be able to do this again if you leave this screen. If you choose not to link your PC/mobile account, you can create a new Genshin Impact account for the new game you just downloaded.
How to Unlink Genshin Impact Account PS4
After linking your account using the method described earlier to enable cross playing, you may decide that you no longer want to have the accounts linked. Instead, you may want to maintain separate accounts for your different devices.
Unlinking your Genshin Impact account on PS4 or PS5 is just as easy as linking it. Use the steps below to unlink your Genshin Impact account on PS4 or PS5:
1. Pull up the Genshin Impact menu
2. Scroll down and select Settings (the gear icon on the left bar)
3. From the Settings menu, select Account
4. Then select User Centre to the right of the Accounts settings
5. You will see all your account details like Username, Email, Mobile with information on whether they are linked or not
6. At the bottom of these details, you will also see Linked Accounts
7. You can click on Linked Accounts to see the linked accounts and then select to unlink whichever account you want to unlink
8. You can also unlink your username, email, or mobile by clicking on Modify Link next to them and then deleting the link.
How to Unlink PS Network Account on Genshin Impact
On the other hand, you may decide to unlink your PS network account from your miHoYo Genshin Impact account.
This may be because you realize that you have to start a saved game afresh instead of continuing from your last progress. This usually happens when there is a region discrepancy between your PSN ID and your Genshin main account servers.
To resolve this, you would need to reach out to miHoYo via email, and they should get back to you within a few working days. Most times, it only takes several hours.
To do this, use the email address linked to your miHoYo account to send a PSN Account Unlink request to [email protected].
When you do this, you should receive an email sometime later confirming the nature of your request and warning you of the consequences of your unlink request.
The consequences include:
1. Unlinking will make you lose all your original game progress on PS Network, including the purchases you made
2. After unlinking, if you log in with the same PS Network account, new game progress will be started
3. If your PS Network account is linked to PC/mobile, and you purchased Genesis Crystals on the PS Network, you will not be able to use these Genesis Crystals on PC/mobile. Essentially, any Genesis Crystals you purchased on the PS Network will not be available to you on your PC/mobile, even if they are linked.
4. All of these changes listed above are irreversible
