Skype is service that allows people from all over the world to communicate so long as there’s an internet connection. You can send text messages, calls, or even video chat for free or for a small fee. This is a great way to get around expensive cell phone plans and speak to whoever you need to internationally. Skype allows you to use your PC, phone, or tablet to connect to others and it has broken many barriers in the past.

It still remains one of the most popular communication services today. As you accumulate a number of messages and calls while using Skype, you may want to erase some. Here’s how to erase your chat history and video history on Skype.

Chat History

1. Launch the Skype application. Make sure that you’re logged into your account.

2. A list of your previous messages will pop up as soon as you launch the app. Look through them and find the one that you want to delete.

3. Right click on your PC or hold on the thread that you want deleted. A menu will appear.

4. When the menu appears, select “Delete Conversation.”

5. Confirm that you want to delete the thread.

You’ll now no longer see that message thread in your chat history. Do that to all of your message threads since you can delete multiple ones at the same time. The message thread will still appear in the other person’s chat history unless they also delete it so keep that in mind.

Video History

1. Launch the Skype application. Make sure that you’re logged into your account.

2. Go to “Tools” on the left side of the screen.

3. Under Tools, select “Options” and you’ll be navigated to a new screen.

4. On that screen, select “Clear History.” This should be located under the “keep history for” header.

This should be the steps for every device that you have Skype on.
