how long does shein take to ship

Shein is an online shopping company notorious for its lengthy shipment times. However, it is a very affordable company to shop from, so many believe this wait is well worth it as you can get a lot of goods for little money.

How Long Does Shein Take to Ship

Where you live and what type of shipping you purchased will all be factors that will alter how long it takes for your Shein order to arrive.

The shipping will take around 7-14 days and can be incredibly long, but that does not include Shein’s 2-3 day wait for packaging your order.

Another common problem with Shein’s shipping is that the tracking is usually inaccurate from the link that they provide to you, so you really have no clue when it will be delivered until you get the email saying your package is at your front door.

Below, there is a chart that lays out the main countries that Shein receives orders from and ships to. You will see that there are different types of shipping that you can choose upon check out.

This will change the scheduled delivery time for you. Additionally, if your order is above a certain amount, you will get free shipping, so this chart also lays out what you have to spend to qualify for that.

Why Does Shein Take So Long

There are many different reasons why Shein orders take so long to ship. The main one is that Shein is located in China, and the majority of orders that they receive are international.

This means that just shipping the order from China to whichever country you live in is going to take some time. Furthermore, once Shein is able to send your package to your country, it is sent to major coastal cities to be sent out from there to your home.

If you do not live near one of these cities, then it will take even longer because your package now needs to be processed in the facility it has currently reached, as well as however many more it needs to go through until your order reaches wherever you live.

If you live in a more rural area, your location alone explains why Shein takes so long because you do not live in an area with lots of people, so less trips will be made to your location.

The amount of orders that Shein receives is another reason why the shipping takes so long. Shein offers such affordable prices that it is heavily demanded by people all over the globe.

This means that it takes time to get everyone’s order properly packaged and sent off. However, if you do want to see when your order is going to arrive, you can use your account to track it.

Keep in mind that Shein’s tracking is not the most accurate telling as there are countless reports where their tracking is not updating or is off by numerous days, whether early or late, but still provides some sort of insight to where your order currently is.

1. To track your order, log in to your Shein account and click on My Account.

2. Once on the My Account page, click on My Order, and you will be able to see all of your current orders.

3. If your order says that the shipment status is Shipped, this means you can track your order.

4. Do so by clicking on Track Order Details on the right side of your page.

5. Shein will then provide a specific tracking number with a link to the courier that will look up the shipment progress.

If your order hasn’t been delivered and it’s exceeded the expected delivery date, then there are a few reasons why.

Where is Shein Shipped From

If you are ordering something from Shein, the chances are that it is being shipped to you from China. This is where the company started and the main warehouse is located.

Specifically, your order is most likely being shipped from Foshan, Guangdong as this is where the founder, Chris Xu, opened up this original warehouse. However, Shein has vastly grown since its creation in 2008 and it is a global phenomenon that is heavily demanded by people across the world.

Due to this demand, you may have noticed that more online retailers, including Amazon, now also sell Shein. This has caused Shein to build more warehouses to keep up with this heavy demand and satisfy their customers.

Still, most of these warehouses are located across China, as you will notice that even when ordering through Amazon, your shipping time is still going to average around two weeks.

One warehouse, though, is located in Los Angeles. This is a very small warehouse and exists only to supply local orders near California, but is also one of the closest United States areas to China.

This allows for a faster shipment directly to this warehouse as well, from the one located in China, to try and make shipping a little faster. So, if you are ordering Shein and live near California, this may be where your order is being shipped from.

Additionally, to feed this very heavy demand, just like the warehouse in California, there have also been various warehouses built in other countries in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

This, again, takes off a little bit of shipping time if you are located near any of the cities that these warehouses are in.

However, even if you are located fairly close to one of these other warehouses, there is still a good chance that your order is being shipped from the main hub in China.

This is where the largest Shein warehouse is located so it still supplies the most orders by far compared to the other warehouses that have opened up to meet the customers’ demands.

Does Shein Have Express Shipping

Shein does have express shipping that is offered in a couple of the countries that Shein supplies to, so this does mean that there is a chance that your country does not do express shipping, so you will not be able to enjoy this feature.

The countries that do include express shipping are Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, and a couple of others. If you are unsure if your country offers express shipping or not, you can easily find out when you go to check out.

Upon check out, when choosing your shipping method, if there is an option to select express shipping, then your country does in fact offer this feature.

However, if this option is not available upon checkout, then you sadly will not be able to use express shipping.

Keep in mind, that if your country offers express shipping, this does not mean you have to use it. You can still choose standard shipping or economy shipping if your country offers it.

Express shipping comes with an added fee, and there is already a fee for just standard shipping But, express shipping does allow for your order to be shipped faster as it is prioritized over orders that did not select express shipping. You can also get express shipping for free if you spend a certain amount.

This will, again, change depending on the country that you are living in. Additionally, Shein loves to offer sales and deals, so you keep buying from them and are more incentivized to try out Shein if you have never ordered from them before.

One small sale they commonly offer is free express shipping, but for a lesser amount than it usually is. If these deals are going on, you will most likely be emailed about it if you already have a Shein account.

However, suppose you do not already have an account. When you go to shop on Shein, it will be advertised all over the website as well as offered to you upon check out if you are spending enough money, even if you did not know about the deal before you decide to add all of your clothes and other items to your bag.

Does Shein Deliver on Weekends

Again, all of Shein’s exact shipping details will depend on the country where you are located in. However, China Post, which is the delivery service that any orders located in China are delivered through, does in fact deliver on weekends.

So this means that if you live in China and are ordering from Shein, your order will be delivered. If you are not located in China and are ordering from any other country, FedEx will be used to deliver your order to your country.

FedEx does deliver on the weekends, so know that your order will for sure be leaving the warehouse in China on the weekends, regardless of where you live. Then, your order will be given to your country’s national postal service.

In the United States, the United States Postal Service is the delivery option that Shein works with. The United States Postal Service does, in fact, deliver on the weekends.

This means that if you are ordering from Shein and live in the United States, keep an eye out for your Shein order on the weekends because there is a possibility that this is when your order will be delivered to you.

If you do not live in China or the United States, make a note of if you are receiving anything at all from your country’s national postal service on the weekends. If you are, this is the same delivery method that Shein will use to deliver your order.

Thus, if you can receive other packages from your country’s national postal service, assume that you can also receive Shein packages on the weekend as well, so be ready to have your order delivered on a weekend if the timing makes it so.

On the other hand, if you notice that you never get any packages or mail from your country’s national postal service on the weekends, you most likely will not be getting your Shein order on the weekend then, since your country’s national postal service does not deliver on the weekends.

However, this does not mean that your order is not being moved over the weekends. Since other delivery methods are used through placing an order and getting shipped to you, if your order is in the hands of another shipping method on a weekend, it is most likely working its way to you.

Is Shein Express Shipping Worth It

The question of is Shein express shipping actually worth it is entirely up to you. Shein is well known for their long wait times when it comes to shipping, but this is to be expected as it is run out of China which can be very far from the country that you are ordering from.

Express shipping is also only available in certain countries, so this question is only relevant if the feature is even available to you. You already have to pay a fee for shipping if you do not have the option of using economy shipping, so the price needs to be taken into account.

While none of these prices charged by Shein are typically very much, a little can easily add up to a lot.

If you feel as though the express shipping fee is a reasonable amount if it means that you can get your order a couple of days or maybe a week sooner than before, then express shipping is absolutely worth it.

However, if you do not feel as though this added fee is not worth getting your order a little bit sooner, then express shipping is not really worth it. There are some cases where this may change a little bit.

There is a set limit that if you spend, you get free standard shipping. In this instance, you might view express shipping as more worth it as it is basically like just paying for a normal shipping fee, but you get express shipping instead.

There is also a set amount in certain countries that if you spend, you get free express shipping. In this case, express shipping is absolutely worth it as there is no additional fee and you get to receive your order earlier for free.

Do Shein Deliver on Sundays

Again, all of Shein’s exact shipping details will depend on the country where you are located in. However, China Post, which is the delivery service that any orders located in China are delivered through, does in fact deliver on Sundays.

So this means that if you live in China and are ordering from Shein, your order will be delivered. If you are not located in China and are ordering from any other country, FedEx will be used to deliver your order to your country.

FedEx does deliver on Sunday, so know that your order will be leaving the warehouse in China on Sundays, regardless of where you live. Then, your order will be given to your country’s national postal service.

In the United States, the United States Postal Service is the delivery option that Shein works with. The United States Postal Service does, in fact, deliver on Sundays.

This means that if you are ordering from Shein and live in the United States, keep an eye out for your Shein order on Sundays because there is a possibility that this is when your order will be delivered to you.

If you do not live in China or the United States, make a note of if you are receiving anything at all from your country’s national postal service on a Sunday. If you are, this is the same delivery method that Shein will use to deliver your order.

Thus, if you can receive other packages from your country’s national postal service, assume that you can also receive Shein packages on a Sunday as well, so be ready to have your order delivered on a Sunday if the timing makes it so.

On the other hand, if you notice that you never get any packages or mail from your country’s national postal service on a Sunday, you most likely will not be getting your Shein order on a Sunday then, since your country’s national postal service does not deliver on a Sunday.

However, this does not mean that your order is not being moved over Sundays. Since other delivery methods are used when you place an order and it gets shipped to you, if your order is in the hands of another shipping method on a Sunday, it is most likely working its way to you.

Does Shein Have Overnight Shipping

Sadly, Shein does not offer overnight shipping. This is because almost all of their orders received are international, or going to places within China that are not achievable overnight.

The fastest you will be able to get your Shein ordered shipped to you is within a week and this is only if you select to have express shipping and live close enough to a warehouse that your order can be shipped that fast.

If you are in desperate need of some clothing overnight, Shein is not the company for you sadly.

Their clothes come at great prices, which is part of the reason it is so popular, so many customers believe that the wait for shipping is well worth it because of the money saved.

You can elect to buy your clothes from another company that offers overnight shipping, but this will most likely be more expensive than your Shein order.

What Are Shein Shipping Methods?

When ordering from Shein, they provide multiple different shipping methods. In general, you can either get economy shipping, standard shipping, or express shipping.

Economy shipping is the most affordable option and usually does not add anything to your total order, but it is the lengthiest shipping as well and can easily take over a month for your order to arrive.

With standard shipping, this has a fat rate that will be added to your total order. If you spend enough money, depending on where you live, you will qualify for free standard shipping.

There are also specials from time to time on Shein that will offer free standard shipping for a certain amount that is lower than normal.

However, Australia does not get this benefit of free standard shipping at all and Malaysia and Singapore always have free standard shipping.

If you want your order to arrive a little bit sooner, you can pay a heavier shipping fee to get express shipping.

Again, this timeline will change depending on what country you live in. There is also a set amount you can spend in some of these countries to qualify for free express shipping, that way you do not have to pay any fees for shipping, not even the basic fee for standard shipping.

As far as shipping methods, Shein is based in China so they use China Post to send any orders out that are ordered in China. Then, they use FedEx as their international carrier and then Fedex delivers the order to the designated country.

For the United States, once the order is received by FedEx, the United States Postal Service then handles delivering the orders.

Both European and Asian countries as well use their national postal service once they get the orders from FedEx. With all of these shipping methods, you can also purchase insurance on your order.

You can do this when you go to check out. Simply click on Add Insurance. This costs varies depending on which country you live in and are getting your order shipped to, but is fairly inexpensive.

In the United States, it is only an additional $2.99. By purchasing this, if any of these shipping methods or companies were to then lose your order, you can then get a full refund. This also allows for you to be able to return anything you do not want for free as well.
