How to Add Music to Snapchat Videos

Snapchat’s drawing feature is a fun way to manipulate the photo and video media that you send on the app. The drawings can be hilarious and engaging, and some have even turned it into a contest to see who can create the best Snap masterpieces.

Snapchat is always updating and evolving, so it’s hard to keep up with all the latest additions of Snapchat. Although the drawing feature isn’t new, there are still aspects of it that may not be understood.

One of the aspects that may not be known is that you can drawing with a variety of colors on Snapchat. Below are the steps that you must take to use different colors when drawing on Snapchat.

Android:

1. Launch the Snapchat app by tapping the yellow icon on your screen. If you can’t locate the app on your phone, swipe up on your Android to reveal a search bar that you can use to search for the app in your phone.

2. The app will open to the camera screen. You can take a new picture to draw on by taking one with the button at the bottom center of the screen. If you have one already taken that you want to use, you will have to look below the recording button at the bottom of the screen for two overlapping rectangles.

Tap these and you will open your Snapchat memories that you can select to edit. If you select to edit, you will be taken to a similar screen as the one that you opened to when you first launched the app, except the picture that you selected will be there with the same layout.

3. You will see a number of icons in the upper right side of the screen. Underneath the T in the corner, you will see a pencil shaped icon. Tap the icon to open the drawing utensil.

4. Once to open the drawing utensil, you will see a range of colors that open beneath the utensil. Slide your finger up and down the column of color that appears to change the color of the pen. You will see the dot that moves change to the color that you selected on the column.

Other tips for using the drawing feature is that all you draw doesn’t have to be with a line. You can draw with symbols, such as flowers or happy faces, by tapping the pencil icon and then tapping the small emoji underneath the color column.

Press this and then you will be able to select one of the emojis that appear. When you drag your finger across the screen to draw, you will see the little emojis appear instead of just a line. This can be done on an Android or an iPhone.

More Tips

Besides drawing, there are a number of other ways to manipulate your Snapchat pictures. If you’d like you can tap to the right of the recording button so that you can scroll through the filters that are available.

If you would like to add a sticker, you can do this after you take a picture. Just tap the square underneath the pencil in the right side of the screen to reveal all the stickers that you can add. There’s also a search bar at the top of the screen that you can use to search for specific GIFs, Bitmojis, and stickers.

Tap on the ones that you want to add them to your screen. Once they are on your screen, you can increase and decrease the size of them and move them around. All you have to do is pull your fingers together or apart to change the size and move your finger around the screen so that you can drag them around.

You can also change the effects after you take a video. When you’re done recording, slide your finger across the screen to the left and you will be able to scroll through all the effects.
