Whether you like it or not, Emojis are around and probably aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, if ever. Good thing is that Galaxy phones make it easier than ever to use them. if you have a newer Galaxy device then you will have no problem with finding and using the emojis.
Even if you have an older Galaxy device, you will still be able to use emojis. You may not have as many options that come standard, but you can still find more emojis to use if you want.
How to Make Sure Your Galaxy has the Ability to View Emojis
If you have a newer Galaxy you will have no issues with your phone being able to view emojis at all. That goes for most smartphones now. Older Galaxy devices may have issues seeing the new emojis though.
To test your phone, you can just go to Google and type in emojis. If you can see the emojis that show up in the search, then you shouldn’t have any issues seeing them elsewhere. If you don’t see emojis and all you see is blank boxes, then you will have to download a separate app or a different keyboard for your device that supports the use of emojis.
Enabling the Samsung Emoji Keyboard
If your phone can view emojis and yet you can’t seem to find the keyboard for them, there are a few things you can do to address this. A lot of Galaxy devices will need you to enable a keyboard that supports emojis. You can download the Google keyboard on devices that are running Android 4.4 KitKat or newer if you don’t already have one, or you may be able to just enable the iWNN IME Keyboard. It only takes a few steps to change your keyboard.
1. Open your Settings
2. Tap General Management and then Language and Input
3. Then tap Default Keyboard
4. Now, you will be able choose a keyboard that supports emojis
Third Party Apps That Can Read Emojis
If your Galaxy cannot read emojis then you are able to download a third party app that allows you to view them. If you look on the Google Play Store, you can find free keyboards that support the use of emojis. Swype is just one example of one of these free keyboards. After you download one of these keyboards you can use the method above to enable it.
Using Your Samsung Galaxy Emoji Keyboard
After you have found a keyboard that supports emojis or just enabled the keyboard that you already had, you may not know how to actually access the emojis. When you are sending a text or writing something in one of your apps, you may have to hit a special icon on the keyboard to open the emoji section of the keyboard.
This icon can look different based on the keyboard you decided to use or the device you have, but the majority of them will be a smiley face icon or the icon that goes with the keyboard you have set up.
