Google Assistant is a lot of things, annoying, a bit invasive, but there’s no doubt that it’s a helpful app. After all, it’s an “assistant,” and it assists you in many things. One such feature is the ability to set reminders.

Are you afraid of forgetting to pick up your crocs? Set a reminder with Google Assistant, better yet, set up a location reminder. Of course, a reminder feature wouldn’t be very helpful if it didn’t actually notify you, which it does with sound. You can change Google Assistant’s reminder sound from the settings with small variations between manufacturers.

8. Now that your notifications have been turned on, change the sound of your reminders by tapping Sound. Choose a new ringtone for Google Assistant to use.

These steps also work for Android devices running Android 9.0 Pie and above. With that being said, even with these two similar, but different guides, you may run into some menu options being switched around here and there.

It’s not uncommon for different Android manufacturers to be annoyingly “unique” with their menu settings. However, they are similar enough that you can apply most of the same steps and still find the sound menu for your Google Assistant reminders.

Bottom Line

Google’s reminder system is a wonderful way of keeping important events within reach and on your mind. You won’t miss that very important LARPing event, nor will you miss your daughter’s play again.
